At the Global Networks Research Institute (GNRI), our research and consultancy projects focus on leveraging network diplomacy to address critical global challenges in public health, climate resilience, and sustainable urban development. Below are some of our key projects:
Ongoing Projects
1. Public Health Communication Networks in the Caribbean
- Objective: To examine how communication networks within the public health sector can improve health outcomes and preparedness, particularly in response to global health crises.
- Focus: Case studies on climate-smart healthcare systems and how network diplomacy can bolster resilience in small island states.
- Impact: Identifying key actors and nodes in the communication network to streamline health policy coordination.
Completed Projects
1. Network Diplomacy in the Caribbean: A Social Network Analysis of Health and Environment Networks
- Objective: This project mapped the communication networks within two major Caribbean networks: The Healthy Caribbean Coalition (HCC) and the Caribbean Youth Environment Network (CYEN).
- Focus: Understanding how these networks facilitate or contain diplomacy efforts to address regional health and environmental challenges.
- Outcome: The project identified influential nodes and gatekeepers in these networks, providing actionable insights for policy-makers.
2. Building Climate Resilience through Network Diplomacy
- Objective: To explore how network diplomacy strengthens climate adaptation efforts in the Caribbean by analyzing collaborative networks.
- Focus: This project examines key networks, including the Caribbean Youth Environmental Network (CYEN) and Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC) , using Network Analysis to visualise and understand collaboration patterns among governments, NGOs, and international organizations.
- Impact: The study identifies influential actors and effective strategies for building resilience in climate networks, providing insights that enhance GNRI’s contributions to regional climate adaptation efforts.
Future Projects
Global Health Network Caribbean Hub
